Make a custom keycap set for the UK keyboard you actually use: British QWERTY legends, your colours and artwork, and the physical keys your board needs. Start by checking its layout, then design the characters.
UK ISO keycaps usually need a tall Enter, a shorter left Shift and the extra key beside it. A set with US English legends or ANSI-only shapes can leave those keys or everyday symbols missing. A keyboard's percentage alone does not confirm fit.

- Enter and left Shift: compare your keyboard with the selected ISO diagram. Check the extra key between left Shift and Z as well.
- British legends: check £ on the number row, the positions of @ and the double quote, and the #, ~ and backslash keys. Use your exact intended character map, including any secondary symbols.
- Compact layouts: check right Shift, the spacebar and every bottom-row key separately. Two keyboards called 75% can need different keys.
- Switch mount and profile: compare the keycap mounting interface, row heights and stabiliser positions. An ISO label or a matching key count does not settle these checks.
Design British legends in the 2D customiser
- Choose the physical layout. Open the 2D editor and use Change layout to choose the ISO size matching your keyboard. Compare the preview before continuing.
- Choose your character map. Open Change language layout and select English (UK) · QWERTY. Check the number row and punctuation against your intended input layout.
- Edit your own characters. Select the keys you want to change, then use Legend Text & Colors and the Top, Center or Bottom Legend fields. You can enter characters such as £, @ and " directly.
- Use your own font. In the right-hand panel, open the keyboard-icon tab. Under Upload Custom Font, choose Select .ttf/.otf file.... Use a font you have permission to use and check that the preview includes every required character.
- Review before ordering. Check all legends, key sizes, rows and artwork. Save the finished design and follow the ordering steps in the customiser. Printed colours can differ from the screen.
Need a layout check before you design?
Send your exact keyboard model and version, an overhead photo, the manufacturer's key-size diagram if available, and your desired character map. Include unusual bottom-row or split-spacebar dimensions. In the 2D editor, Add keycaps lets you add available keys individually; each piece still needs the correct width, row, shape and mounting positions.

Common questions about custom keycaps in the UK
Are UK and US keycaps interchangeable?
Some keys may share sizes, but the complete sets can differ in Enter, left Shift, the extra ISO key and printed symbols. Match your physical board first. If your board is ANSI, choose ANSI shapes and edit British legends separately; keycaps cannot convert its physical layout to ISO.
Will these work with my keyboard brand?
DIYKeycap custom keycaps are not compatible with Logitech, Razer or Corsair keyboards. Low-profile keyboards, original Topre HHKB keyboards and original Apple keyboards require a separate check. For other keyboards, confirm the exact layout and mounting interface rather than relying on a brand name.
Does changing keycaps change what my computer types?
No. Your operating system controls the input layout. Choose the matching British input settings and check the characters you need; printed legends and physical key shapes are separate choices.

Custom keycaps have worldwide standard shipping of US$5. Contact us before ordering if you need a particular delivery date; a UK arrival date is confirmed separately. Business and bulk specifications, quantities and lead times are agreed per project.
