A logo that looks clear on a presentation slide may lose detail on a keycap. Before requesting custom printed keycaps, prepare artwork that communicates both the original brand design and how you want it to appear at a much smaller size.

Start with the original artwork
Provide the original vector file when available, such as AI, SVG or a suitable PDF, together with a simple preview. Vector artwork can be resized without relying on a small screenshot. For a raster image, send the highest-quality original and avoid enlarging a low-resolution web logo. Confirm the final production file format during the project review; an artwork file is not automatically compatible with every editor.
Check the design at actual viewing size
Look at thin strokes, small lettering and closely spaced details. A simplified brand-approved version can be easier to read than a full logo with a tagline. Keep essential details away from edges and curved areas, and ask for a placement review. There is no universal safe margin for every key size and design.

Catalog examples for project discussion. Ask DIYKeycap to confirm the selected material, legends, key inventory and keyboard model.
Make placement unambiguous
Identify the keyboard layout, key position, orientation and whether the artwork sits on one key or spans several. A continuous image crosses gaps between keys, so faces, letters and important logo elements need careful placement. Include a marked preview rather than asking the production team to guess which file belongs on which key.
Supply usable color and text references
- Send brand color references and identify which colors are most important.
- Include the intended background and check that the logo has enough contrast.
- For text, provide the font reference and an outlined copy when available.
- Separate each design version and name files clearly to avoid mixing artwork.
Review before a bulk order
Screen brightness and lighting can change how a color appears. Ask which sampling or design-confirmation arrangements are available for your project. A preview helps check layout and composition, but should not be treated as a promise of exact printed color. Send the artwork with your quantity, keyboard models and deadline so the factory can review the whole brief.
Discuss your project with our factory
DIYKeycap has its own factory and accepts bulk custom keycap projects. Send your company name, quantity, keyboard models and layouts, artwork, delivery country and target date. Minimum quantity, price, sampling, lead time and packaging are confirmed for each project.
